What Should Be On Your Moving Checklist?

Moving Checklist
When you’re planning a move, it helps to be organized and as prepared as possible before the actual move. Advanced preparation will make moving day go much more smoothly and help you organize your thoughts and work toward the move efficiently. At Glaser & Sons Mooving, we want you to have a successful move. We have years of experience, and here is what we have put together for a moving checklist that will help you have a stress-free move.

Pick a moving company. You have many options. Get quotes, ask for recommendations, and research the company. Make sure you have a company lined up as far in advance as possible, so they can ensure that they have the equipment and manpower you need on your moving day.
Purge your home. Sort through all your belonging and look for things you want to sell or get rid of. The more you get rid of, the less you will have to move, and the less expensive and stressful it will be. We will donate any furniture or other belongings you don’t want to take with you to Goodwill for you if you are unable or do not have the time to take them over yourself.
Start using up items that cannot be moved. This includes frozen food, bleach, aerosols, etc. Check with your specific moving company to see what is on their do-not-move list.
Begin packing items that are not used frequently. For example, holiday decorations, camping supplies, and sporting equipment. If you can get a jump on packing, it will help your move go more quickly and save on some of the cost. If you’d rather not do any of your packing, our team at Glaser & Sons Mooving can come a day ahead of your move to pack up your home entirely.
Back a bag/suitcase of essentials. You’ll want to have this for the first few days you’ll be in your new home. That way, you won’t have to dig around in hundreds of boxes for your toothbrush.
Moving can be stressful. We hope our moving checklist helps you feel more prepared for your upcoming move.
